Ms. Sharmila Murat is a visionary and inspirational leader who currently heads all investing activity for the Chalhoub Group, the leading partner of luxury across the Middle East, with growing operations in India, Africa, and Latin America. She is a member of the Board of Directors of several companies, including Saint-Honoré, Ralph Lauren Middle East, Ella Afrique, La Bouche Rouge, and Nice One.
Sharmila has spent the last decade honing her operational skills while leading multiple luxury retail business divisions for the Chalhoub Group. She led digital and cultural transformations, assisted in the creation and introduction of new brands and ideas, and advocated for consumer experiences. Her expertise in comprehending and meeting consumer demands, reimagining business activities, and directing investment decisions in new brands, business models, and geographies is well-established. Being at the forefront of profitable and sustainable expansion and diversification programs in developed and emerging markets energizes her as an innovator and outside-the-box thinker. She holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
