Abu Dhabi National Energy Company & Agthia Partner to Promote Positive Economic Impact in the UAE

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, January 10, 2019: Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA), a leading water and energy company in the UAE, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today with Agthia Group PJSC, a world-class food and beverage company headquartered in Abu Dhabi, to enhance strategic alignment and provide high-quality services to TAQA’s headquarters and UAE-based assets.

Saeed Hamad Al Dhaheri, Chief Executive Officer of TAQA, and Tariq Ahmed Al-Wahedi, CEO of Agthia Group signed the MoU at TAQA’s Headquarters at Abu Dhabi Global Market Square. The MoU will enable TAQA employees to benefit from Agthia’s food distribution centers located in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra.

Stemming from its longstanding commitment to serving local communities, TAQA’s partnership with Agthia aims to have positive economic and social impact for TAQA employees in the UAE, which number more than 1,500 locally. Agthia’s food distribution centers offer more than 140 Agthia-made and alternative products at affordable prices to employees of various government and semi-government organizations as part of the Group’s commitment to the community.
Speaking at the signing of the MoU, Saeed Hamad Al Dhaheri, Chief Executive Officer of TAQA, said, “TAQA strives to make a positive difference in the lives of our employees and the broader communities across our 11 markets. With this new strategic partnership, Agthia further expands its already well-established presence in the UAE. The Agthia distribution centers are available to Abu Dhabi pension members, employees of the Ministry of Defense and armed forces, Producing Families, Faza’a members, as well as many other national organizations in the UAE.
